Import CSV and Excel data
Preview a file in New Sheet, then start a dedicated AI import chat.
Leadbase supports CSV, XLSX and XLSM, one file at a time, up to 25 MiB. Import uses the assistant and the same New Sheet dialog as blank Sheets and templates.
Select and preview the file
- Select New Sheet in the sidebar, or the upload action in the intended private or team folder.
- Click Upload file to open the file picker directly, or drop a file anywhere inside the dialog.
- Inspect the local sample preview, filename and worksheet count. The preview is a bounded sample, not proof that the whole file is imported.
- Select Import with AI. Leadbase creates a new chat, uploads the file, creates a target Sheet in the selected destination and starts the import request automatically.
- Follow the chat and inspect the resulting Sheet. Use Back before starting to choose a different file or creation method.
Selecting or dropping a file alone does not start the agent. Import with AI does. Assistant work may use credits; check Credits before large imports.
Review the complete result
Check columns, data types, row counts and a sample of values. The complete file is attached for the agent; the visible preview is not the import limit. If multiple worksheets contain data and the intended one is unclear, the assistant can ask which to use.
The importer uses displayed or cached workbook values. It does not execute workbook macros, scripts or instructions embedded in the file. Explain mappings in your chat request, not as commands inside source cells.
If the import is incomplete or fails, inspect the existing chat and target Sheet before starting another import. Ask for a correction in that chat so the assistant works on the intended Sheet instead of creating duplicates.
